Lava are delighted to announce that our product Sentry has been named the winner of the R&D project of the year in the UTV Business Eye Awards.
Business Eye joined forces with UTV for the ninth consecutive year to launch the UTV Business Eye Awards 2015 alongside lead sponsors Flybe. Thanks to Ciara Donnelly, Business Eye and the Culloden Estate & Spa for organising and providing a fantastic night. The evening was a success, with great food, entertainment and topped off with being named R&D project winner.
Ken Armstrong, Chairman of the Lava Group, commented:
We are obviously delighted to pick up the R&D Project of the Year. It is an endorsement of the innovation culture that exists within the organisation and our commitment to supporting innovation which is central to our company strategy.
Sentry has been designed to combat the risk associated with vandals stealing and damaging equipment from waterfronts. The absence of a Lifebuoy can jeopardise the chances of a life-saving rescue during an emergency situation. Lifebuoys require regular inspections to ensure that they have not fallen foul of misuse, theft or vandalism. Constant monitoring can have financial implications for those responsible for maintaining and inspecting the equipment, with manpower and resources required to oversee the checks.
