At Lava we enjoy strong relationships with our staff and share a high level of commitment to exceed our customer’s expectations. We recognise the correlation between happy and healthy staff, satisfied customers and business results; and have taken a systematic approach to the health and wellbeing of our staff.
The company understands the potential impact that the accelerating pace of modern life, the demands of working parenthood, the increased responsibilities outside of work and the financial pressures associated with the current economic climate could have on the physical and mental wellbeing of our staff.
That is why we have developed a health and wellbeing strategy, as part of a Health & Wellbeing Support Service, with Health Matters in partnership with the Public Health Agency. It combines awareness, prevention and a support structure to empower staff to live healthier lives. While the company has always invested in the health and wellbeing of its staff, the new strategy has allowed Lava to create structured programmes that directly respond to the health needs of its employees.
The Lava Group’s health and wellbeing strategy takes into consideration 5 key areas; Cancer Awareness, Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, Stress and Back Care. Staff are invited to attend health and wellbeing information sessions in the office which includes tailored workshops to increase awareness of available screening, individual nutritional assessments, weight loss programmes, back care clinics and much more.
Annette Murray, Lava Health Champion, commented:
We recognise that the health and wellbeing of our staff is vital to the success of our business. We introduced the company’s health and wellbeing strategy to energise our workforce to join together and support each other on the path to healthier lifestyles. Whilst this is early days of the programme I am confident that it will have a positive impact on our staff and business.
