National Custody Conference

04 November 2025

Attendance at National Custody Conference 2025

We’re delighted to announce our attendance at the National Custody Conference on the 13th November 2025, at the Mercure Hotel, Northampton.  This event is a pivotal gathering for custody innovation and reform across the UK.

This year sees a new portfolio lead in Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet and his Staff Officer, DCI Simon Barnes. Together, their ambition is to make custody as safe as possible for detainees, officers, staff and partners. They are equally committed to ensuring every detainee is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

Driving custody innovation and reform

The conference itself focuses on key priorities across the Criminal Justice System, including trauma-informed approaches, the needs of vulnerable populations, advances in technology and stronger inter-agency collaboration. As a result, these discussions reflect the evolving landscape of modern custodial care and a shared ambition to create safer, more humane environments.

Showcasing our AI powered Behaviour and Life Signs Monitoring solution

We’re proud to showcase our AI-powered ‘Behaviour and Life Signs Monitoring’ solution at the event. This in-cell monitoring system offers a revolutionary approach to custodial care, addressing critical risks linked to self-harm, mental health decline and physical wellbeing concerns.

Moreover, the system promotes proactive and compassionate care. It detects early signs of distress and enables timely interventions that protect lives. Ultimately, it aligns with the conference’s vision for innovation that enhances safety, wellbeing and respect in custody settings.
