Mental Health Awareness Week 1 May 2017

At Lava we are committed to producing a caring and supportive working environment which is conducive to the welfare of all our staff.  We see wellness as much more than merely physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of states including physical, mental, and spiritual well-being which interact in a way that contributes to our staff’s quality of life. 

As part of the company’s health and wellbeing strategy we have taken into consideration an action plan in relation to ‘Mental Wellbeing’ within the workplace.  The Health & Wellbeing Support Service, provided by Health Matters in partnership with the Public Health Agency recommend a 3 tier approach for managing Mental Wellbeing, including stress.

In advance of Mental Health Awareness Week commencing 8th May 2017, we are offering all our staff Stress Awareness support, followed by Stress Management training for our Management team.  A selected number of suitable individuals within the company will act as first aiders to provide first aid and support for anyone experiencing mental health problems at work.

 

About Mental Health Awareness Week

The Mental Health Foundation has hosted Mental Health Awareness Week in the second week of May since 2000. In previous years the week has focused on how mindfulness, anxiety, sleep deprivation and relationships can impact our mental health. In 2017 the theme will be ‘surviving to thriving’.
